This quality addition to the North of Portugal golfing portfolio, has recently hosted the European Senior Tour.
The original 9 hole course was built by Mackenzie Ross in 1936 and was skillfully integrated into the new 18 Holes by designers Cameron and Powell in 2010.
This has created some delightfully contrasting holes. It begins on the original layout through avenues of trees and opens out with the primary hazards being bunkers and series of small burns, which criss-cross the fairways. The final holes narrow again when they return to the original holes and climb up the hillside.
Once the greens have been reached you will find they are high quality with subtle burrows to test all. One of the other eye catching features of the course are the huge tee boxes, which have been decoratively bordered by the stone from the surrounding region.
The course offers opportunities to score well, but be warned if you are a little wild off the tee there is a penalty to pay.
"Vidago was a very well laid out parkland course. Lovely big greens and lots of interest. Last few holes are a bit hilly. Another enjoyable round."

"The golf course is a real test for the mid handicapper because of the number and positioning of bunkers and hazards but we played it three times but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The closing holes are completely blind so a little knowledge of the course is beneficial. The greens were superb The club house staff could not have been more friendly and helpful."
